- To train graduates in Psychology, Psychopedagogy, Pedagogy and Medicine and other graduates or professionals in the practice of professional Dance Movement Therapy.
- In both cases the candidate must pass an introductory course, an oral and a movement interview.
- To provide the necessary knowledge in order to do research in the field of Dance Movement Therapy.
- To contextualize the clinical practice of the Psychotherapist in Dance and Movement within the psychotherapeutic theoretical framework of Dance Movement Therapy.
- Understand the possible ways of structuring and organizing the therapeutic space for different populations: children, adolescents and adults; and design possible interventions using Dance Movement Therapy.
- Conduct Dance Movement Therapy sessions and develop clinical cases.
- Achieve basic knowledge of the different systems of movement analysis.
- Develop the student’s emotional and empathic ability to work with patients affected by serious disorders.
- Develop the capacity to reflect on the content and process of your own therapeutic practice.
- Learn to work in a team.
- Learn about the techniques and methods of investigation.
- Learn how to diagnose and work with group phenomena.

The new regulations of the UAB are being applied. Only those students who have completed their university degree correspdoning a batchelor or diploma or a coruse equivalent to 180 ECTs (European Credits) can enrole for the master’s degree.

The master is structured following this model
1st. YEAR (30 ECTS)*
- Ten weekends: once a month on Saturday and Sunday, 9h00 – 19h00.
- One intensive week in the summer: 9h00 – 19h00 (first week of July 2014).
A European Credit (ECTS)* equals 28 hours, some of which are held in class, others doing homework, exams, readings, etc.
2nd. YEAR (40 ECTS)*
- Ten weekends: once a month on Saturday and Sunday,9h00 – 19h00.
- One intensive week in the summer: 9h00 – 19h00 (first week of July 2014).
- 300 hours of clinical placement per year (two days a week).
- 50 hours of supervision a year (Fridays in group sessions).

3rd. YEAR (30 ECTS)*
- 300 hours of clinical placement per year (two days a week).
- 50 hours of supervision a year (Fridays in group sessions).
- The investigation (thesis).

IMPORTANT REMARKS
* The pre-enrollment is a university tax that cannot be refunded.
** The first course will be done in a single term at the time of enrollment. The fee for second course can be paid in two parts.
NOTE: Enrollment does not include the payment of the therapeutic process students are required to undertake once starting clinical placement (normally during the second year of the course but it is recommended to start the therapeutic process at the beginning of the course).
